This
is what it was all about. Getting up early in the morning and watching
out for these tracks. Sometimes there might have been between 30
and 40 tracks coming out of a nest. We would count them, make sure
they all went the right direction, and then we'd leave knowing that only
one in every thousand hatchlings would survive in the water.
